Biography

JUNIOR (2018) – Made 23 appearances in the circle, having made 12 starts and throwing four complete games … Finished the month of April as one of the Pack’s most efficient hurlers, posting a 2.14 ERA in five relief appearances … Came out of the bullpen and allowed no earned runs on three separate occasions … Tossed a complete game shutout in the Pack’s final contest against Utah Valley, where she retired 11 of the final 12 batters she faced, including eight straight … Flirted with history at Colorado State, stringing together a bid for a perfect game after retiring the first 18 batters she faced … Tossed a complete game in the Pack’s season-opening victory over Louisiana Tech, striking out five batters in the process … Struck out a Nevada career-high nine batters in Nevada’s win over Southern Utah … Helped Nevada make back-to-back postseason appearances since the 2008-09 seasons … Letter winner.

SOPHOMORE (2017) – Appeared in 27 games for Nevada where she started in 19 contests and tossed eight complete games on the year … Recorded the team’s lowest opponent batting average of .289, which ranked 11th-best in the Mountain West … Finished the year with the 12th-most wins in the conference with nine … Began her Wolf Pack career earning two victories in her first two starts, posting a 0.93 ERA in 15 innings pitched … Completed her only shutout of the year in a win over Nicholls State, allowing no walks and just five hits over seven innings … Threw two eight-inning complete games, earning wins in both contests over Southern Illinois and San Diego State … Struck out a season-high seven batters against UNLV … Posted a season-high seven assists against San Diego State … Earned a complete game victory in the Pack’s run-rule victory over Boise State, where she allowed just three hits and one run over six innings … Posted a 2.10 ERA and gave up just one walk in two postseason starts … Helped lead Nevada to the postseason for the first time since the 2009 campaign ... Letter winner.

PRIOR TO NEVADA – Transferred to Nevada from Sacramento City College where she played one season … Helped lead her team to the CCCAA Big 8 Conference Championship and CCCAA All-State runner-up finish … Named the CCCAA Big 8 Conference Pitcher of the Year, a CCCAA All-State pitcher, Sacramento City MVP, CCCAA State All-Tournament team selection, and Sacramento City Scholar-Athlete … Racked up 26 wins during her one season with just five losses, struck out 219 batters and posted a 1.36 earned run average.

HIGH SCHOOL – Attended Douglas High School in nearby Minden, Nev. where she played three seasons of softball under coach Robert Parks … Named the Northern Nevada All-League Conference Pitcher of the Year as a sophomore … Earned second-team All-Conference as a junior … Her senior year, she earned first-team All-Conference and second-team All-State honors … During her high school career, she struck out 319 batters and recorded a 2.20 ERA.

PERSONAL – Daughter of Dena Sargent … Is on track to graduate with a dregree in Human Development and Family Studies … Chose Nevada because it’s an awesome college and she’s a Nevada girl; this is her home … Lists Stephen Curry as her sports hero because he loves God and isn’t afraid to show it … The most memorable moment of her career was a game against Santa Rosa JC where she went 3-for-3 at the plate with three home runs … Volunteers as a coach with youth basketball and softball programs in Douglas County and loves to spend time with her family in her free time.
