SPOKANE, Wash. - Nevada closed its four-games-in-four-days road trip with a 7-2 loss at Gonzaga Monday afternoon.

The Wolf Pack (16-10) missed on early opportunities to put Gonzaga in an early hole. In the first, the Pack had runners on second and third with none out after Rominic Quiban's leadoff walk and Jayce Dobie's ground-rule double, but could only get Quiban across on Junhyuk Kwon's sacrifice fly.

After Gonzaga tied it with a run of its own in the bottom half, Nevada loaded the bases with two away in the second. But Bulldog starter Gabe Brabec got Dobie to fly to left and the Pack came away empty.

Gonzaga (13-13) broke things open in the fourth. Hudson Shupe put the Zags ahead with a one-out RBI single, then two batters later Ricky Sánchez tripled off the wall in right to bring in two more and give the Zags a 4-1 lead.

The Zags added three more runs in the eighth, started by an RBI double from Shupe. Nevada capped the scoring with Noah Blythe's second home run of the season, a solo shot with two out in the ninth.

Brabec got his first win, holding the Pack to a run on five hits through six innings. Garrett Gores went the final three innings for the save.

For Nevada, Nik Miller fell to 2-1, lasting 3.2 innings and giving up four runs and striking out five.

Jackson Waller led the Pack lineup with two hits. For Gonzaga, Sánchez was 3-for-5 with two RBIs while Shupe and Landon White drove in two runs apiece.

Nevada returns to Reno to host Simpson Thursday at 3:05 p.m. at Don Weir Field at Peccole Park.
