RENO, Nev. - Reno native Mikey Cruz Jr. delighted the hometown crowd with the Wolf Pack's first three-home run game since 2024 Tuesday as Nevada defeated Fresno Pacific, 15-5, in eight innings.

Cruz reached base in all five plate appearances, going 3-for-3 with six RBIs in addition to a walk and being hit by a pitch. He opened Nevada's scoring with a three-run shot in the first, with his second a solo shot immediately following Jacob Doyle's grand slam in the Pack's seven-run second.

After two, the Wolf Pack was in command, leading the Sunbirds 10-0.

Fresno Pacific (11-15) did not go down without a fight, however. Titus Wheelock hit a solo shot in the fourth, then added a two-run single in FPU's four-run fifth to halve the Wolf Pack lead at 10-5.

Nevada (12-6) was held scoreless from its seven-run second until Rominic Quiban's RBI single in the seventh to make it 11-5. The Pack opened it up and ended the game with four in the eighth, With Cruz's third homer of the game driving in two and Nate Snakenborg adding an RBI double. A few batters later and with the bases loaded, Snakenborg would score the walk-off run on a wild pitch.

Doyle was 2-for-5 with his grand slam to boost the Pack offense, while Jackson Waller was 2-for-4 with three runs scored and Jack Metcho went 2-for-2 with an RBI and two walks. Lee Matsuzaki scored thrice while going 1-for-3.

Jayce Dobie went the first two innings of the bullpen game, striking out two while not allowing a run to even his record at 1-1.

The Wolf Pack, now 7-0 at Don Weir Field at Peccole Park and winners of nine of its last 10, resumes Mountain West play with a three-game set against Air Force beginning Friday at 6:05 p.m.
