RENO, Nev. – Nevada Softball wins its first outright Mountain West Championship since 2008. An Ainsley Berlingeri shutout and Maya Larsen's homer and walk-off single powered the Pack's victory.

The Wolf Pack got off to a great start with five runs coming across in the first inning. A Haylee Engelbrecht single scored both Aaliyah Jenkins and Haley Painter. Lexi O'Gorman followed with a double to the left gap, scoring Engelbrecht from first. Larsen capped off the big inning with a line drive homer to left, scoring O'Gorman.

With two outs in the second inning, Hannah Di Genova singled to left to score Jenkins after the star senior got aboard with her second double of the game.

Tatum Maytorena tripled in the fourth inning, her fifth triple of the season and sixth of her career, both marks to move her up in the Nevada Softball record books. Her fifth triple of the year ties her for the fourth most in a single season, and her six career three-baggers are tied for the seventh most in Wolf Pack history.

While Maytorena's triple did not end in a run, a fielder's choice to tag Maytorena allowed Madison Clark to get to second base, later advancing on a wild pitch. Clark would score on a double steal with Jenkins during the next at bat.

Nevada wasted no time in the fifth inning, needing just one run to walk off the game. Saige Alfaro worked the count to walk, leading off the inning. Lexi O'Gorman singled, moving Alfaro to third, and setting up a grounder up the middle by Larsen to score Alfaro and walk off the game.

Berlingeri pitched a gem for the Pack, throwing her second complete game of the season. Berlingeri went five innings, allowing just two singles and a walk. Berlingeri struck out three of the 19 Rams she faced.

On the opposite side of the scorebook, Jenkins, O'Gorman, and Larsen led the team with two hits each. Jenkins reached a third time with a walk, reaching base in all of her plate appearances. Larsen finished the day with 3 RBI, joining Engelbrecht, who finished with a multi-hit day, driving in two runs herself.

With the Pack's win, Nevada has won all eight series in conference play, the first time the program has won all of its regular season series since 2008, when the Pack won all six of its series in WAC play.

The Wolf Pack and Rams close out the regular season tomorrow with Senior Day. First pitch is set for 10 a.m. at Christina M. Hixson Softball Park, and senior celebrations will be held post-game.
