SAN JOSE – Nevada Softball tied its series against San José State with a 3-1 win Saturday.

After being shut out for just the fourth time this season on Friday, Nevada took some time to get the bats going. After one hit and only 10 batters through the first three innings, the Pack fell behind in the bottom of the third. The Spartans drew a walk and stole second to lead off the inning, then moved the runner to third on a groundball to second. Shay McDowell singled to right field, scoring the Spartans' run.

Nevada responded immediately with a pair of walks to open the fourth inning. With Aaliyah Jenkins and Saige Alfaro on the bases, Hannah Di Genova bunted the runners into scoring position. Haylee Engelbrecht extended her hit streak to seven games with a go-ahead two-run single to right field.

The Pack tacked on another run in the fifth inning when Hannah Di Genova walked with the bases loaded, giving the Pack a two-run lead.

Tess Bumiller shut down the Spartans' bats, only allowing two hits in the final four innings. Bumiller threw a career-high seven strikeouts in her second complete game of the season. Bumiller only allowed four hits while giving up just the one earned run.

Clark recorded her fourth straight multi-hit game with another two-hit day. Aaliyah Jenkins extended her on-base streak to 15 games with a single and a walk. She also stole two bases. Alfaro walked twice, the fourth time she's done so this season. Despite going hitless, Di Genova played a big role in the Pack's win, with her sacrifice bunt to move the go-ahead run into scoring position and drawing a walk to score the Pack's third run.

Tomorrow's rubber match is set for 12 p.m. back at Spartan Softball Complex.
