Wolf Pack women's basketball ends season against Broncos at Mountain West Championships

Box Score LAS VEGAS, Nev. - In the first round of the 2025 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Championships, #9 Nevada took on #8 Boise State. The Pack put up a fight, but fell to the Broncos, 54-48.

Tempo was high from the jump as each team was looking for the early advantage. Nevada struck first off of a layup by Lexie Givens. The Defense of the Pack kept the Broncos off the board all the way until the five minute mark of the opening quarter.

With four minutes left in the first, the Pack found themselves down for the first time after the Broncos knocked down a pair from the charity stripe. Lexie Givens then took it the other way to tie it up at four, before getting a a pair of free throws of her own for a 6-4 Nevada lead.

Boise State cut the lead to one before Audrey Roden splashed a three and scored a layup. The Broncos got one more basket, but Dymonique Maxie hit a major three before the buzzer to give the Pack a 14-7 lead into the second. 

Nevada held of Boise State for the majority of the second, until the Broncos tied it up at 24 with just over four minutes left until the break.

The Broncos then took the lead and the Pack found selves play from behind, 30-28 at the half.

Quarter three began with Boise State taking the lead again before Maxie tied it up at 32 with just over halfway through with a made free throw. With three and a half minutes to go until the fourth, Roden hit a jumper to put the Pack back in front. 

Nevada's defense held Boise State to just four points for the entire third quarter, while the offense added 10. Into the final 10, the Pack were leading, 38-34.

The fourth quarter began with Boise State cutting into the lead before eventually tying it up at 42 with six and a half to go. The Pack jumped in front again by four, but the Broncos gained the lead late. 

Nevada wasn't able to grab the advantage again, falling to Boise State and closing out its season.

Givens recorded double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Roden had nine points and six boards. Maxie contributed with eight points, while Imbie Jones grabbed seven rebounds.
