RENO, Nev. – Nevada moves to 27-7 overall concluding doubleheader sweep over Saint Mary's, both of which ended in five innings courtesy of run-rule. Haley Painter and Gabby Herrera had a home run in each game.
 
Game 1, 13-2 (W, 5 inn.)
The Gaels put up the first run of the game with a solo shot over the center field wall. Saint Mary's added to their early lead scoring on a fielding error. Those would be the Gaels only two runs of the game.
 
Haley Painter answered back to the 2-0 deficit in the second with a two-run shot over the left center wall to tie the game at two.
 
The Pack had a seven-run second inning beginning with a Maile Olsen RBI double scoring A. Jenkins, who reached base on a leadoff double. Chelie Senini followed with a two RBI double scoring Bailie Clark and Olsen. Bridgette Gilliano had her first triple of the season, clearing the bases and tacking on three more Pack runs. Herrera put the stamp on a seven-run inning with a two-run home run, her ninth of the season, bringing home Gilliano.
 
The Pack added three runs with Gilliano reaching on a fielder's choice scoring B. Clark. Two runs followed with Herrera singling, advancing to second on a throwing error, resulting in Gilliano and Painter scoring.
 
Nevada added its final run of the game in the fourth with an RBI single from Maya Larsen, who came in to pinch hit for Charli Hawkins, scoring Maytorena who came in to pinch hit for Aaliyah Jenkins.
 
Taryn Irimata got her third start of the season going all five innings, giving up two runs in the first then pitching four scoreless. Irimata went 5.0 innings, striking out eight, walking one, and allowing two runs on four hits.
 
Game 2, 11-3 (W, 5 inn.)
The Gaels got on the board first with an RBI walk followed by an RBI groundout, putting the Pack in a 2-0 deficit until the bottom of the second with a RBI double delivered by Bailie Clark, scoring A. Jenkins.
 
The Pack tied the game at two in the third with an RBI single through the left side from Herrera scoring Gilliano. The Pack took the lead with an RBI double from A. Jenkins scoring Herrera. Hawkins delivered with a two RBI double through the left side scoring A. Jenkins and T. Jenkins.
 
The Pack broke the game open in the fourth with Painter's second home run of the day in the form of a three run shot over the left field wall scoring Senini and B. Clark. Gabby Herrera also capitalized with her second home run of the day extending the lead to seven.
 
The Gaels added one run in the fifth with a sac fly to send the game into the fifth, Pack up 9-3.
 
The Pack added their final two runs of the game in the fifth with B. Clark's first collegiate home run over the left field wall. Herrera's double to left center scoring Painter, to walk-off the game in run-rule fashion with the Pack completing the doubleheader sweep over the Gaels, 11-3.
 
Blake Craft got the second game start but only went 0.1 innings after walking two. Tyra Clary was brought after Craft recorded one out in the first. Clary went 4.2 innings, striking out five, walking two, and allowing one run on two hits.
 
Notables:
  • Haley Painter was hit by a pitch three times on Tuesday, jumping her into eighth all-time in Nevada career hit-by-pitches (21), and second most in a single season (12)
  • Painter reached base in all seven plate appearances, going 3-3 with a walk and three hit-by-pitches
  • Chelie Senini ties Sara Parsons for ninth most walks drawn in a Nevada career (69).
  • Bailie Clark hit her first career home run in the 5th inning of the second game.
  • Painter and Gabby Herrera both hit a home run in each game, bringing both players to 10 on the season.
  • Bridgette Gilliano extends her hit/on-base streak to 13 games. 
  • B. Clark extends her hit/on-base streak to 10 games.
  • Senini extends her on-base streak to 10 games.
