Box Score EUGENE, Ore. - Nevada women's basketball opened its season on Wednesday night, falling to Oregon after a tough battle, 76-58.
The Wolf Pack opened the game in aggressive fashion, holding the Ducks scoreless until a minute and a half in. Nevada tied it up 10 seconds later with
Dymonique Maxie getting the first points of the season for the Pack.Â
Oregon pulled away slightly after going on a six-point run, but Nevada never let the Ducks get too far ahead in the opening quarter. The Wolf Pack went on to take their first lead of the game with just over two minutes to go off a layup by
Rakiyah Jackson.
The first 10 ended with Nevada on top, outscoring Oregon, 14-12.
Quarter two was a back-and-forth battle for the first half, but the Ducks began to jump ahead. The Pack found themselves play from behind as the score was 40-23 at the break.
The second half, Nevada tried to find its rhythm again while keeping Oregon from adding on. The Wolf Pack saw their highest scoring performance in the second 20. They put up 17 points in the third and outscored the Ducks in the fourth after scoring 18 to their 12.
There was only a one rebound difference between the teams, showing off the impact that transfer
Amelia Raidaveta has after she grabbed seven for Nevada.
Victoria Davis led the Pack in scoring with 11, followed by
Kennedy Lee who had nine and led in steals with and three.
Izzy Sullivan led both teams in assists with four.Â
Nevada will have a quick turnaround as it hosts Bushnell on Friday in its home opener at 6:30 PM.
