RENO, Nev. – Nevada Athletics will celebrate the launch of LatinX and Hispanic Heritage Month at home events beginning this weekend.

LatinX and Hispanic Heritage Month runs Sept. 15-Oct. 15, a time to celebrate the achievements, histories, traditions, and cultural diversity of Hispanic/Latino/LatinX Americans whose heritage is rooted in 20 Latin American countries.

Nevada Football will recognize LatinX and Hispanic Heritage Month at this Saturday's contest against Kansas, set for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff, with discounted tickets available at HERE. Max Garcia, owner of Carniceria Tres Amigos, will be honored at the game, celebrating 25 years of business in the local community.

The contest will also feature a pregame performance from Mariachi Lobos de Plata, the University's student-run ensemble.

The Wolf Pack soccer team will hold its LatinX and Hispanic Heritage Month match the following day, hosting Eastern Washington Sunday, Sept. 17, at noon at Mackay Stadium.

Nevada Volleyball's LatinX and Hispanic Heritage Month contest is set for Tuesday night, Sept. 26, at 6 p.m. against Fresno State at Virginia Street Gym.

All three contests will feature a VAMOS PACK rally towel giveaway.
