RENO, Nev. – Beginning this August, Fridays will be packed full of Silver and Blue as Nevada Athletics launches Wolf Pack Fridays: an initiative to make Reno and its surrounding areas "Nevada's College Town."

To kick off the initiative, Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve issued a proclamation Wednesday morning, officially declaring Fridays in Reno "Wolf Pack Fridays." Joyfully celebrating each Friday in honor of the University of Nevada will help enshrine the city's reputation as "Nevada's College Town."

Wolf Pack Friday invites local businesses and fans to come together and celebrate as a Pack. Fans donning their Wolf Pack pride on Fridays will unlock deals and discounts created just for them by participating businesses across Northern Nevada.

"The City of Reno is deeply honored to be Nevada's College Town," said Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve. "The University of Nevada's campus literally and figuratively connects to downtown Reno. We are proud to be silver and blue and also the home of Truckee Meadows Community College. Reno truly earns top honors as Nevada's College town!"

"Reno's passion for the Wolf Pack runs over a century deep, and the city and university have grown side-by-side, hand-in-hand. I would like to thank Mayor Schieve and the City of Reno for their support of this initiative," said Nevada Athletic Director Stephanie Rempe. "Nevada Athletics is proud to represent Reno and the Northern Nevada community, and we look forward to seeing the community covered in Silver & Blue with Wolf Pack flags flying every Friday!"

Local businesses and fans can become a Wolf Pack Fridays partner by signing up here. Annual participation as a Wolf Pack Fridays partner runs through July 31, 2024, and costs $100.

Fans can support the Wolf Pack at home by purchasing the household package for just $25. This package includes a 3x5 Nevada flag and flag pole kit for proud display of Wolf Pack spirit on Fridays, and will be personally delivered to homes.

Proceeds from every package purchased will go towards the Pack Excellence Fund, supporting Nevada's over 400 student-athletes.

After registering, partners will receive an exclusive Wolf Pack Fridays welcome package, which includes a Wolf Pack Friday flag-and-pole kit, sticker, and tote bag.
