ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Nevada won the final game of the series against the New Mexico Lobos, 13-8 Sunday afternoon.
Carley Brown recorded the win as the starter in the circle for the Pack. Brown gave up five hits, two runs, and struck out two before Tyra Clary came in to relief in the bottom of the sixth. Clary played 1.2 innings, allowing six hits, six runs, and two strikeouts.
Nevada jumped on the scoreboard first thanks to a double to center field by Bridgette Gilliano and a grounded out by Charlie Hawkins that drove Gilliano across for a two-run lead.
In the top of the third, Hawkins's two-run double extended the lead to 4-1 for the Pack. Hawkins continued the hot streak with an RBI single for a 5-1 score in the top of the fifth.
Chelie Senini tallied a single in the sixth inning to extend the lead to 6-2.
Aaliyah Jenkins lead the top of the seventh with a single up the middle. Madison Clark also single to left field to put the Pack on bases with one out. Maile Olsen reached first on an error by the Lobos's second base to lead Gabby Herrera and Madison Clark across the plate. Senini's fifth triple of the year scored Hailey Prahm and Olsen for a 10-4 score, followed by Gilliano's second double for an 11-4 score. Nevada loaded the bases while Jenkins and Clark battled at the plate led to RBI walks.
The Lobos scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh, but Blake Craft came in to shut down the offense with a strikeout swinging and close the game 13-8 for the Pack.
