LOS ANGELES - Nevada stretched its winning streak to four as starter Peyton Stumbo stifled USC bats in the Pack's 3-2 victory in Los Angeles.

Stumbo evened his record at 1-1, allowing just two runs on three hits with three strikeouts. Four Wolf Pack relievers combined to hold the Trojans scoreless over the final three innings, with Kolby Kmetko tossing the ninth to pick up his third save. Overall, the Pack pitchers did not allow a hit over the final 6.2 innings.

Nevada (7-5) chipped away at an early 2-0 hole, getting solo shots from Taylor Holder and Derek Tenney in the third and fourth innings, respectively, to pull even. The Pack took the lead for good in the sixth, as Jaxon Woodhouse's bouncer found its way up the middle, scoring Nolan Wilson from second.

USC (5-6-1) left five of its eight runners on base from the sixth inning on. The Trojans came closest to threatening in the eighth, getting runners on first and second against Morgan White, but Jeff Bauser did well in center to track down a deep line drive from Ethan Hedges for the third out.

Stumbo's only stumble Wednesday came in the second. With two outs, he hit Adrian Colon-Rosado then gave up a single to Connor Aoki. Bryce Martin-Grudzielanek lined a double down the left-field line that plated both for the early USC lead.

Nevada heads up the Golden State Highway into the San Joaquin Valley, visiting Fresno State for a three-game Mountain West series. The set opens Friday at 6:05 p.m.
