MIAMI, Fla. - Nevada softball finished the undefeated weekend against Stony Brook to take home the Florida International Classic title Sunday morning. The Pack picked up the ninth shutout game of the season after a final score of 5-0.Â
Carley Brown was the starter pitcher and had a complete game against the Seawolves. Brown gave up four hits and a walk while striking out five players.Â
Maile Olsen knocked her third home run of the season. Olsen also recorded two runs and a walk to average .333 in the game.Â
Aaliyah Jenkins and Charli Hawkins tallied a single to put the Pack up by two runs in the bottom of the first. Jenkins registered two RBI, a run, and a walk to average .298 in the game, while Hawkins's RBI put her with a .393 average.Â
Haylee Engelbrecht continued with a great weekend after tallying an RBI single in the bottom of the second.Â
Up next:
The Pack will return to Reno and get ready to host the first Judy Sather Classic at Christina Hixson Park. Nevada will host Texas A&T Commerce and Southern Utah, March 10-12. The first game against the Lions is set for Friday at 2 p.m.
