STOCKTON, Calif. -Â Nevada swept the day against the Pacific Tigers Saturday afternoon. The Pack won in the first game with a 6-4 score, followed by a 9-inning 8-7 victory over the Tigers.Â
Nevada 6 - Pacific 4Â
Carley Brown recorded the first win of the day for the pitching staff. Brown gave up five hits, four hits, and strikeout two. Tyra Clary came to relief Brown after three innings to close out the game. Clary gave out one hit, zero runs, and strikeout five players.Â
Aaliyah Jenkins (2-4) and Maile Olsen (2-2) led the team offense with two hits each. Jenkins put the Pack on the board on a ground out to the pitcher, which led Olsen to drive across the home plate in the top of the third.Â
In the fourth inning, Olsen hit an RBI single with bases loaded, which scored Bridgette Gilliano, which tied the game 2-2. Maya Larsen put in an RBI walk that gave the Pack the lead. The inning was not done for the Pack, as Jenkins hit a base-clearing double to the right, which extended the lead to 6-2.Â
The Tigers drove two runs across in the bottom of the fourth, but the Pack continued with the lead to close the game 6-4.
Nevada 8 - Pacific 7 (9 innings)
Blake Craft started in the circle for the Pack. Craft gave up nine hits, four runs, and strikeout three. Clary came in to relief for the second time on the day, and this time, the junior recorded the win for the Pack. Clary gave up five hits, three runs, and strikeout two.Â
Aaliyah Jenkins continued to be hot at the plate as she put on two hits, an RBI double to the left field, and a two-RBI home run to lead the Pack offense.Â
Madison Clark scored her first RBI triple as a member of the Pack in the top of the second to add one run to the scoreboard. Chelie Senini reached the plate on a throwing error by the Tigers, which led to Clark scoring from the third plate.Â
The Tigers put four runs on the board to keep the score within one run in the bottom of the fifth. The Pack responded with a home run to right center by Charli Hawkins. Pacific tied the game in the bottom of the seventh and pushed the game to extra innings.Â
Nevada came out on top with an 8-7 win after Engelbrecht scored on a wild pitch.Â
