NEVADA IN MOUNTAIN WEST OPENERS

SUNDAY MORNING FOOTBALL???
Nevada's non-conference finale at Iowa Saturday night/Sunday morning was literally one for the record books. Due to three lightning delays in the third quarter, totaling a combined four hours, five minutes (delays of 1:26, 1:51, 0:48), the total elapsed time of the contest came in at six hours, 58 minutes, a Nevada record. Also setting a record was the end-of-game time of 1:39 a.m. local as the latest a Wolf Pack football contest has been completed.
PETERSON PUSHES HAWKEYE LINEMEN AROUND
Defensive tackle
Dom Peterson highlighted a respectable effort from the Nevada front seven at Iowa, consistently disrupting the Hawkeye backfield and finishing with a sack and 2.0 tackles-for-loss among his four tackles.
He was one of three on the defensive line to at least share a tackle-for-loss, as
Christopher Love made one solo, and
Thomas Witte shared one with
Maurice Wilmer. Overall, the Pack's front seven made all six of the defense's 6.0 TFL in the contest, with linebackers
Drue Watts and
Naki Mateialona adding sacks to Peterson's.
CAMPBELL UPPING THE RECEIVING ROLE
Transfer WR
Dalevon Campbell has been steadily working his way up the Nevada receiving rankings since making his Wolf Pack debut Sept. 3.
After catching one ball in that win over Texas State, Campbell has combined for six catches for 85 yards over the past two, including a 36-yard haul Sept. 10 against Incarnate Word.
With seven catches this season, he has surpassed his three-season total (six) while at Illinois.
