Nevada faces Santa Clara in Holiday Game Sunday

RENO, Nev. - Nevada women's basketball takes on Santa Clara on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Lawlor Events Center in its annual holiday game.

The first 250 fans will receive an ugly sweater Nevada t-shirt sponsored by Home Means Nevada. Nevada will also be holding a teddy bear toss during the game, with all teddy bears being donated to Renown Children's Hospital. Teddy bears will be available for purchase for $5 in the Kid's Zone. Postgame activities will include a free 30-minute basketball clinic with Nevada women's basketball players and postgame autographs with the team.

Larry Burnett will have the call on 94.1 FM and 1450 AM, with a 20 minute pregame show prior to tipoff. Fans can also listen live online through the Varsity Network. The game will be available to watch on the Mountain West Network and live stats can be accessed through Sidearm.

Fans are encouraged to buy tickets online in advance starting at just $10. Tickets purchased at Lawlor Events Center the day of the game will start at $12.

The Pack set the attendance record for its 'When I Grow Up' games, playing in front of 5,656 fans on Dec. 8 against Long Beach State that mostly included kids from Washoe and Storey County. It was the highest-attended Nevada women's basketball game since Nov. 28, 2017, when the Pack hosted No. 1 UConn.

Junior guard Tiffany Siu will play Sunday's game against Santa Clara on her birthday. Siu has stepped up for the Pack this season, scoring all 38 points of her Nevada career during the 2022-23 season. She is one of three members of this year's Nevada women's basketball team to play a game on their birthday (Lexie Givens, Jan. 7 and Shea Mead, Feb. 18).

Lexie GivensAlyssa Jimenez and Victoria Davis have contributed heavily in multiple categories recently for the Pack. Givens produced back-to-back double-doubles for points and rebounds in the 2022 Nugget Classic on Nov. 25 and 27, earning All-Tournament team honors in the process. She was the first Nevada player since Terae Briggs in 2018 to post a double-double in back-to-back games. Davis and Jimenez came up with double digit numbers in points and rebounds against Idaho on Dec. 3, becoming the first Nevada duo to collect a double-double in the same game since 2019.

SCOUTING SANTA CLARA
Santa Clara comes to Reno on fire, winning five of their last six games. The Broncos' only loss during that stretch came at No. 2 Stanford Nov. 30. Santa Clara has outscored its opponents by an average of over 12 points per game this season.

The Broncos are led by Tess Heal, who averages 14.5 points per game and 4.9 rebounds per game. Ayzhiana Basallo adds solid production to the Santa Clara lineup, scoring 10.5 points per game.
