RENO, Nev. - Julia Jensen and Emma Dern have been selected to represent the University of Nevada as members of the Mountain West Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) for the 2020-21 term. Jensen, a pitcher for the Wolf Pack softball team, is entering her second term as the Nevada SAAC President, while Dern, a track and field athlete, will be the vice president for her second term. 

As a Mountain West committee member, Jensen and Dern will not only participate in meetings and conference calls but also serve as an advocate for the conference and support the consensus of the committee.  

One thing that the conference and SAAC has focused on is community service, and for the past 15 years, the Mountain West SAAC team has awarded the Community Service Award. Nevada won most recently, presented in February 2020, with a total of 6,670 hours.
