Johnson helps Nevada pull away late to beat Fresno St. 78-76

Nevada wins 20th consecutive Mountain West home game

RENO, Nev. (AP) Jazz Johnson scored nine of his 15 points during Nevada's 16-5 closing run and the Wolf Pack beat Fresno State 78-76 on Saturday night.

Jalen Harris scored 20 points to lead Nevada (18-10, 11-5 Mountain West Conference), which has won five straight games. Nisre Zouzoua added 19 points and Lindsey Drew had 15.

Fresno State (10-18, 6-11) led 71-62 with 6:45 to play. Zouzoua sparked the game-winning rally with a 3-pointer. Johnson followed with nine straight points and Harris added four and Nevada led 78-73.

Jarred Hyder converted a three-point play with about a minute left for Fresno State. New Williams missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Niven Hart scored 18 points to lead Fresno State. Hyder added 15 points, Orlando Robinson had 13 and Noah Blackwell 12.

The Bulldogs shot 14 of 35 (40%) from the 3-point arc, but missed nine free throws (12 of 21). Hart, Blackwell, and Hyder each made four 3-pointers.

Fresno State ends its regular season at Wyoming on Saturday. Nevada plays at Wyoming on Tuesday.

Game Notes:
Nevada (18-10, 11-5 MW) improved to 18-10 and 11-5 in Mountain West play after defeating Fresno State (10-18, 6-11 MW) 78-76 at Lawlor Events Center tonight before 9,155 fans.

Nevada travels to Wyoming (7-21, 2-14 MW) to play the Cowboys on Tuesday at 6 p.m. PT.  The game will air on AT&T Sports Net.  The Wolf Pack won the first meeting 68-67 in Reno earlier this season.

The Wolf Pack has won its last 20 MW home games and is 33-2 in its last 35 conference home games.

The Pack has won its last five games equaling its longest win streak of the season.

Tonight's victory moved the Pack into a tie for second place in the MW standings with Utah State. 

Nevada has won the last six games in the series with FS and holds an overall 58-44 advantage.

The 12-point first half deficit was the largest overcome by the Wolf Pack this season.  Nevada trailed by nine points, 71-62 with 6:45 to play.

Junior Jalen Harris scored a game highs with his 20 points.  It was the15th time he posted a game-high this season in points.  Harris has scored in double figures the last 24 games, posted his 17th game of 20 or more points, led the Pack in scoring for the 19th time and scored in double figures for the 25th time this season.  

Nizré Zouzoua was a point shy of tying his Pack career-high finishing with 19 points off the bench. Zouzoua made 5-of-7 shots from behind the arc.  He has scored in double figures 15 times this season and in four of the last five games.

Jazz Johnson scored nine of his 15 points in the Pack's 16-5 run to end the game.  Johnson has scored in double figures in the last four games after returning from a shoulder injury that forced him to miss two games.  On the season he has reached double figures in points 23 times.  Tonight he made 3-of-9 3-pointers marking his 19th time making three or more 3s in a game.

Lindsey Drew scored in double figures for the 16th time this season after his 15 against FS tonight.  Drew tied teammate Robby Robinson for team honors with six rebounds.  He has led the Pack in rebounding a team-high 15 times and it was the seventh time for Robinson.

Nevada allowed a season-high 14 made three pointers by an opponent.

The Pack made 11-of-26 3-pointers marking the 11th time in the last 14 games and 19th time this season Nevada has made 10 or more 3s in a game.
