Nevada falls in game one to Boise State

BOISE, Idaho - The Nevada softball team moves to 8-8 in Mountain West and 24-20 overall after falling to Boise State, 7-0. The two meet tomorrow when the Pack looks to even the series.

Kendall Fritz got her 21st start and pitched four innings and had three earned runs before Kali Sargent came in relief. The senior finished out the game with two strikeouts and had two earned runs charged to her but ultimately, Fritz was issued the loss and moves to 11-8 on the year.

Haley Burda was the lone Wolf Pack player to have a multi-hit game, going 2-for-3 at the plate. Sadaria McAlister and Dallas Millwood both tallied a single in the contest to bring the team count to four.

The Broncos got started early, putting up three runs in the first inning and then held the lead until the fourth where they put two more up on back-to-back solo home runs and extended their lead in the sixth with two more runs.

The Pack had runners on the corners in the seventh after Millwood singled and Danielle Lew reached on an error by the Broncos pitcher. However, the two were left on base after two fly outs were caught in the outfield.

Again, the two meet tomorrow with Nevada looking to even the series with a 3 pm PT first pitch.
