Inks deal with Rio Natura Monbus Obradoiro CAB

RENO, Nev. – Kendall Stephens, who recently completed his senior season with the University of Nevada men's basketball team has signed to play for the Rio Natura Monbus Obradoiro CAB basketball team in Spain.

The 6-7 sharp shooter earned third-team All-Mountain West honors this past season.  Stephens helped the Wolf Pack win the MW regular season title and advance to the NCAA Tournaments Sweet 16 after comeback wins over Texas and Cincinnati.

Stephens set Nevada and MW records making 126 made 3-pointers in his senior year that also ranked fifth in NCAA I.  Jimmer Fredette had held the MW record of 124 made 3-pointers set during the 2010-11 season.  In MW play his 73 made 3-pointers also established a new mark.  His five made 3-pointers in the Pack's NCAA Tournament win over Texas is a Nevada record and his eight made in the NCAA Tournament tied the school record.

He was fourth on the team averaging 13.1 points per game.  From behind the arc he shot 43.2 percent to rank 21st nationally.   His 3.41 made 3-pointers per game was ninth among NCAAI players.  Three times he made seven 3-pointers in a game.  In the home win over SJSU he scored a career-high 30 points which tied for the top scoring game on the team this past season.

In four seasons, the first three at Purdue he totaled 1,118 career points in 127 games played and finished with a career average of 9.3 points per game.  He made 38.8 percent of his 3-pointers connecting on 301-of-775 from behind the arc.
