CORVALLIS, Ore. – The University of Nevada (15-10) baseball team lost 3-2 in 11 innings at No. 4 Oregon State (22-4) on Monday night at Goss Stadium before 3,215 fans. The Wolf Pack drops to 15-10 on the season while the Beavers improved to 22-4.
Pack reliever
Keone Cabinian retired the first two OSU hitters in the bottom of the 11
th inning but a single, walk and hit batter loaded the bases for Beaver catcher Adley Rutschman. The inning seemed to be over when Rutschman hit a fly ball to center field but
Cole Krzmarzick dropped the ball and the winning run scored.
OSU scored the first run of the game in the second inning after back-to-back doubles by Michael Gretler and Jack Anderson to put the Beavers up1-0. Nevada tied the game in the fourth inning after
Daniel Perry walked and scored on Michael Echavia's RBI double. In the sixth the Pack took a 2-1 advantage on
Grant Fennell's RBI double that plated
Joshua Zamora. Nevada held the 2-1 lead until the bottom of the ninth.
In the bottom of the ninth OSU took advantage of another Nevada miscue as Fennell misjudged a fly ball to left field that went for a double. Beaver center fielder Steven Kwan followed with an RBI single and the game was tied at 2-2 until OSU won in the bottom of the 11
th.
Cabinian (0-1), the fifth Pack pitcher of the game, was tagged with the loss allowing the unearned in the 11
th. Jake Mullholland (1-0) earned the win for OSU pitching 3.2 scoreless innings.
Echavia (1-for-4,RBI), Fennell (1-for-5,RBI), Connor Allard (1-for-4) and Krzmarzick (1-for-5) each had a hit as the Pack totaled four in the game. Echavia and Fennell had RBI doubles.
Kwan (2-for-3,RBI) and Cadyn Grenier (2-for-5,2R) had two hits apiece for OSU. Grenier scored two of the Beavers runs including in the winning run in the 11
th.

Notes:
Nevada is 0-2 in extra inning games this season falling 3-2 at Oregon State tonight and 10-9 at Pacific on March 6. Both games were 11 inning contests.
After winning four games in a row for the second time this season, Nevada has lost its last two games.
Weston Hatten made his third start on the mound and tied his season-high with 4.1 innings pitched. The Pack is 2-1 when Hatten starts.
Hatten, who also plays in the outfield, is the only player to play and start all 25 games.
Reliever
Jordan Jackson pitched 2.1 scoreless innings extending his scoreless streak to seven innings.
