RENO, Nev. – After two weekends away from home to start the season the 15th ranked University of Nevada rifle team will host No. 20 UTEP this weekend. It will be the third meeting in as many weeks for the two schools with each winning once. The Miners won 4594-4589 to begin the season in a match hosted by Air Force. Last week the Pack scored a 4647-4583 victory at the Miners home range in El Paso, Texas.
Saturday's smallbore is scheduled to start at 8:00 a.m. at the range located north of Peccole Park, Nevada's baseball field on the east side of campus. Air rifle will take place at the Pack rifle range on Sunday at 8:00 a.m. The range located at the Nelson Building at 401 West 2nd street. Enter through the second baseman door on the east side of the building.

Senior
Mitchell Van Patten led the way last weekend posting the top scores in air rifle (595), smallbore (580) and aggregate (1175) in the win over UTEP. The scores are the top performances on the team this season and the 595 in air rifle tied his career high.
Sisters Rachel and
Sara Benesh have the second and third best air rifle scores on the team at 586 and 584 respectively. Both came in the road win at UTEP last Saturday.
Sophomore Nadine Aloha, a newcomer to the varsity lineup, boasts the second best aggregate score on the team of 1156 while ranking third in smallbore (574) and fourth in air rifle (583).
Freshmen
Tio Brody and
Alec Patajo have also earned a spot in the lineup in their first season at Nevada. Brody's 575 in smallbore is second on the team and he has not competed in air rifle this season. Patajo ranks fourth in smallbore (571) and aggregate (1150) with his 579 in air rifle being fifth best on the squad.
