FAIRBANKS, Alaska – The seventh ranked University of Nevada (5-3) rifle team fell 4701-4646 in a Patriot Rifle Conference match at No. 5 Alaska on Saturday in Fairbanks. The Nanooks took the smallbore competition 2323-2298 and the air rifle 2378-2348.
Next action for the Wolf Pack is Feb. 3-4 at the Patriot Rifle Championships hosted by Air Force.
Junior Mitchell Van Patton had the best finish in the match placing third in the smallbore with a score of 581. Van Patton's 1164 aggregate score that combines smallbore and air rifle (583) earned him fifth.

Emily Capaul had three top 10 finishes taking fourth in air rifle with a score of 590, sixth in aggregate (1162) and ninth in smallbore (572).
Rachel Benesh shot 590 in air rifle to earn fifth and her 1160 aggregate score good for seventh. Benesh posted a 570 in smallbore.
