Cooper Powell of Nevada baseball has been named May's student-athlete of the month. A junior majoring in Strategic Communications with a minor in Business Administration, Cooper holds a cumulative 3.396 GPA and is scheduled to graduate in the spring of 2018. Also, a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Cooper is in the process of becoming a public relations intern for the Reno Aces. This season, Cooper has held opposing hitters to a .274 average through 18.2 innings of work on the mound.
