Box Score

CLEMSON, S.C. - The University of Nevada (15-31) baseball team dropped a 9-4 decision to No. 7 Clemson (36-12) in the series finale at Doug Kingsmore Stadium today. The Tigers won the series taking two of the games while the Wolf Pack scored a 7-5 upset of the nationally ranked foes on Sunday.

Nevada returns home to host intrastate rival UNLV (18-32, 8-16 MW) in a key Mountain West and Governor's Series matchup. Friday and Saturday's games start at 6 p.m. with Sunday's senior day getting underway at 1 p.m.

Freshman Riley Ohl made his first start in three weeks after missing consecutive outings as a results of an illness. Ohl struggled in the first inning walking five batters and left after facing seven Tiger hitters. The four-run bottom of the first was more than Nevada could overcome in the 9-4 setback.

Nevada scored a single run in the second inning on sacrifice fly off the bat of Marco Valenzuela that plated Michael Echavia who started the inning with a double. Two more CU runs in the bottom of the second made it a five-run game at 6-1.

The Pack got within three after scoring a single run in the third and twice in the fourth. Cole Krzmarzick doubled and scored in the third. Dillan Shrum homered leading off the fourth for his second of the season. Tyler Flores singled and scored on Justin Bridgman sacrifice fly but that would be all the scoring for the Wolf Pack.

Clemson scored twice in the fifth and added a solo home run in the eighth inning to make the final score 9-4.

Ohl (3-2) suffered the loss allowing the four first inning runs. Pat Krall (7-1) got the win giving up four runs, three earned in six innings. Ryley Gilliam (4) saved his fourth game of the season pitching three scoreless innings.

Shrum (2-for-4,R,RBI) and Flores (2-for-4R) led the Pack with two hits each. Shrum extended his reach base streak to 25 games.

Four different Tiger hitters had two hits in the game as CU totaled 12. Grayson Byrd and Kyle Wilkie each had two RBI.

Notes:
Senior Justin Bridgman's team season-high 12-game hit streak was snapped. The streak also tied his career high.
Freshman Dillan Shrum has reached base in the last 25 games.
