STANFORD, Calif.
- On an overall strong day one of the Cardinal Classic for the Nevada track & field team, big changes to the Nevada all-time list were made in the long jump and 5000 meter Friday afternoon.

Both seniors Nicole Wadden and Kadeisha Hield put on their best Nevada career performances in the long jump. Wadden, who was able to build on each jump, leaped for a best mark of 19 feet and 9 inches (6.02m), just three quarters of an inch off the school record. She moved all the way from 10th to second on the Nevada all-time list. Just a week after putting up her best mark with Nevada at the Mt. Sac Relays, Hield improved yet again, jumping 19 feet and 4.25 inches (5.90m). She made the leap from ninth into a tie for fifth in Wolf Pack history. Sophomore Alli Dickey also recorded a personal record in the event with her best jump coming in at 17 feet and 6.75 inches (5.25m).

In the final race of the night, freshman Hiley Dobbs made a move on the 5000 meter all-time list with a time of 17:16.83, the ninth fastest time in program history to move her from 10th. In a very strong field, the Canada native hung toward the back of the pack with teammates Marissa Suan and Helen Mino Faukner. As the race progressed, the group began to pass runners tailing toward the back of the third group that had separated on the track. Dobbs took advantage of the momentum she had gained passing runners to finish strong in the last lap, leading her to the personal record that moved her up in Nevada history.

Freshman Karoline Sauer took on the 400 meter hurdles and, for the second week in a row, recorded a Nevada personal record in the event. Her time of 61.77 seconds moved her up two spots from ninth on the all-time list, putting the Germany native at seventh.

Junior Katia Coquis Lossio earned a second place finish in the javelin. With her mark of 152 feet and 8 inches (46.52m), the Spain native threw less than three feet off her personal record, which sits eighth in Nevada history. It was just her second competition of the year coming back from injury.

In the 200m dash, both juniors Brittany Graves and Dezirae Pennington recorded personal records. Graves crossed the finish line in 25.45 while Pennington finished with a time of 25.64.

Action at the Cardinal Classic continues Friday, including the 3000m steeplechase, pole vault and 100m hurdles.
