BRYAN CLAY RESULTS

RENO, Nev.
- Freshman Karoline Sauer and senior Kadeisha Hield both had career days Friday at the Mt. Sac Relays, etching their names into Nevada history with all-time list times and marks.

Sauer, who has been struggling with injury since the very first meet of the indoor season, was making her outdoor debut in the 400 meter hurdles, feeling healthy enough. She cleared hurdle over hurdle in a strong heat that was able to push her. The Germany native crossed the finish line in 62.24 seconds, putting her ninth on the Nevada all-time list.

Hield, who has been the team's lead long jumper in her two seasons here, broke through a big wall Saturday to get on the event's all-time list. On her very first attempt, Hield jumped 19 feet and 1.25 inches (5.82m). The mark would prove to be her best of the afternoon, placing her seventh at the meet and putting her ninth in Wolf Pack history.

Additionally, two more Wolf Pack student-athletes placed in the top eight of their event in juniors Brittany Graves and Katia Coquis Lossio. Graves jumped 39 feet and 8.5 inches (12.10m) in the triple jump to place sixth, while Coquis Lossio took fourth in the javelin throw with a mark of 153 feet and 11.75 inches (46.93m). Freshman Gaby Palmer also recorded a collegiate outdoor personal record in the pole vault, clearing 11 feet and 11.75 inches (3.65m).

Over at the Bryan Clay Invitational, hosted by Azusa Pacific, a pack of wolves took on the 1500 meter. Senior Erika Root, in her second race back after beating stage four cancer, set a personal record by more than four seconds with her time of 4:35.91. Freshman Stefanie Ortega also set a big PR, crossing the finish line in 4:33.43. She was the top Pack finisher in the event ran under the lights.

Nevada will get right back to it next weekend when it heads to the Cardinal Classic, hosted by Stanford. The meet is the first of two before the Mountain West Championships. Senior Fiyin Olusola is also set to take on the 100 meter hurdles Saturday at the Mt. Sac Relays in the elite division.
