DAVIS, Calif.
-- Continuing a good start to the outdoor season, the Nevada Wolf Pack track & field team wrapped up two days of competition at the Aggie Open, hosted by UC Davis, Saturday.

Things got started off Friday with the hammer and javelin throw. Senior Nicole Wadden was able to chuck a personal record across the field, coming in at 122 feet and 7 inches (37.37m). She took fourth. Junior Savanna Haverfiel snagged a third place finish in the javelin with her best mark of 123 feet and 5 inches (37.61m).

The bulk of the meet finished up on Saturday. Redshirt freshman Eliza McCall took first in the 800 meter, crossing the finish line in 2:10.91. Also on the track was junior Marissa Suan in the 5000m. Her personal record time of 17:21.63 earned her a third place finish.

The Wolf Pack went one-two in the 100m hurdles with seniors Fiyin Oluola and Wadden. Olusola crossed the line in 14.20 while Wadden followed her up in 14.26. The 400 hurdles proved to be a strong point for Nevada as well as senior Franziska Kindt took second with a time of 1:02.54.

Senior Emily Myers and sophomore Cora Gallop led a group of Nevada runners in the 2000m steeplechase, snagging the top two spots. Myers claimed first with a time of 6:47.10 while Gallop followed her up in second at 6:53.14.

Redshirt freshman Delaney Gosse was the top high jumper of the meet at five feet and seven inches (1.70m). It marked a personal best of four inches. Sticking with the jumps, Wadden had another strong showing in the long jump, taking first with a mark of 18 feet and 11.15 inches (5.77m), a personal record.

Sophomore Brandi French and junior Anna DuBois went one-two in the shot put. French's best mark came in at 47 feet and 1.75 inches (14.37m) while DuBois followed right at 47 feet and 0.5 inches (14.34m).

Nevada will get a week off before heading over the mountain yet again, this time for the Hornet Open at Sacramento State.
