BOISE, Idaho
- Opening up action at the Jacksons/NB Invitational Friday, freshman Gaby Palmer and senior Kadeisha Hield both came through with the best performances of their careers.

Palmer, competing in the pole vault, crushed her old collegiate personal record with a mark of 12 feet and 5.5 inches (3.80m), taking second at the meet and debuting in a tie for sixth on the Nevada indoor all-time list. Her teammate, sophomore Emily Etter, recorded the same mark for a third place finish based on attempts.

Hield, who set her Nevada long jump personal record at the Jacksons Open in Boise to open up the indoor season, did it again Friday afternoon with her jump of 19 feet and 0.75 inches. The mark was good enough to put Hield tied for first in the event, and improved on her previous mark of 19 feet and 0.5 inches, fifth in Nevada history.

Several of Nevada's sprinters qualified for the finals on Saturday. Senior Fiyin Olusola, freshman Lea Menzel and junior Alexandra Tierney all moved on to the 60 meter hurdle finals, set for 11:05 a.m. MT Saturday. Junior Alyssa Porter and Hield both earned a spot in the 9:35 a.m. MT 60m dash finals. Senior Franziska Kindt, setting a personal record, was the top finisher at 25.00 to move on in the 200m dash. She'll be joined by teammate Brittany Graves, who also set a personal record crossing the finish line in 25.76. Both will compete at 3:25 p.m. MT Saturday afternoon.
