RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada Baseball team (2-6) lost an offensively dominant game by Virginia Tech (7-1) by a score of 24-10. The Wolf Pack lost the series to the Hokies 3-1.

After a scoreless first inning by both teams, the offensive onslaught began. The Wolf Pack had no answer for Rahiem Cooper, who hit one of his two grand slams today in the second inning to give Virginia Tech a 4-0 lead. His second grand slam came in the fifth inning, and he ended his big day with nine RBIs.

The Wolf Pack's first run of the game came from the bat of Mike Echavia on an RBI double in the fourth, but not before the Hokies had built a 12-0 lead. Virginia Tech was only held scoreless in two of the nine innings played.

Jimmy Lunardelli, in his first at bat at Peccole Park, registered a two RBI double and finished with three on the day. Jordan Pearce recorded his first two RBIs of the season on a two-run home run that was blasted over the left field wall in the eighth inning.
