BOISE STATE CHALLENGE RESULTS

DON KIRBY INVITATIONAL RESULTS

BOISE, Idaho
- In the strongest team performance of the season, the Nevada Wolf Pack women's track and field team finished up its regular season Saturday, ready to head to Mountain West Championships in two weeks.

"We had personal bests almost all the way across the board," said head coach Shantel Twiggs. "That's exactly the type of momentum we need before we go to the conference championships. I'm so proud of this team."

Senior Alison Powers soared through the pole vault competition, clearing the beginning marks on her first attempt. When it came down to just two, Powers and the vaulter from BYU, the two made the jump to 13 feet and 5.5 inches (4.10m). Neither able to clear it, the bar came down to 13 feet and 3.5 inches (4.05m) for a jump off. After a miss from her competitor, Powers came surging down the runway, squeaking over the bar on her first attempt for her victory and tying her school record of 13 feet and 3.5 inches (4.05m). Sophomore Emily Etter also recorded a top three finish, coming in third with a 12 feet 5.5 inches (3.80m).

Senior transfer Franziska Kindt, who has just torn up the longer dash races this season, put on another strong performance in the 400m dash Saturday, taking second with a time of 56.29 as she debuted at third on the Nevada all-time list. Her fellow German, freshman Karoline Sauer, also debuted on the list. Her time of 56.90 was good enough for ninth in Nevada history and a third place finish.

In the long jump, senior Kadeisha Hield continued her steady climb up the list she's been on the season. With yet another personal record at the Jacksons Indoor Track, Hield moved to third on the Nevada all-time list, up from fifth. Her mark of 19 feet and 7 inches (5.97m) earned her a victory.

The triple jump was another strong point for the Pack. Juniors Brittany Graves and Dezirae Pennington both recorded personal bests, going one-two in the event. Graves' best mark came at 39 feet and 11.5 inches (12.18m), solidifying her four spot in Nevada history. Pennington finished the evet with a jump of 38 feet and 9.75 inches (11.83m), also strengthening her hold on the all-time list at eighth.

Sophomore Brandi French made the move to fifth in Nevada history in the shot put. Her mark of 48 feet and 7.5 (14.82m) inches also earned her a victory in the event.

The 800 meter saw two strong performances as redshirt freshman Eliza McCall placed second with her time of 2:13.91. The personal record performance put her ninth in school history. McCall was followed closely by senior Sidney Root, who took third with a personal record of 2:14.47.
