DRAKE RELAY RESULTS
OSU HIGH PERFORMANCE RESULTS

CORVALLIS, Ore. -
Nevada Wolf Pack track & field put together several strong performances Saturday afternoon at the Oregon State High Performance Meet, including personal records and top five finishes.

Day two of the Beaver-hosted meet was the final regular season meet for much of the Nevada team before Mountain West Championships May 11-14. The team took advantage, with many athletes performing at or near their career and season bests. A total of two personal records were set, and the team claimed four top five finishes as well in the afternoon with a smaller than normal squad.

In the 100m dash, sophomore Alyssa Porter continued her steady improvement throughout the season. With plenty of competition right at her heels, Porter was pushed to a personal record, crossing the line in 12.02 seconds for fifth place.

Sophomore Alexandra Tierney snagged a personal record of her own on the afternoon. In the very difficult 400m hurdles, the Canada native cleared the obstacles with ease. As she leaped over the last hurdle, she found herself in a group of three all battling for second with just 40 meters to go. Pushing her pace with everything she had, Tierney stuck with the group to take fourth. The sophomore was just .11 seconds out of a top three finish.

Brittany Graves came incredibly close to her season best in the triple jump. With her best jump coming in the final attempt of the first round, Graves claimed fourth place in the event. Her best mark came in at 38 feet and seven inches.

In the final race of the day, a new 4x400m relay team of Tierney, Porter, Graves and sophomore Dezirae Pennington took on the race. With trading leads all race, Nevada crossed the line in second. However, the group's time of 3:53.72 was the fastest 4x400m relay time of the season for the Pack, and ranks in the top eight in the conference.

A small group will compete on May 7 at the Sacramento State Open while the majority of the team won't return to action again until the conference championships.
