RENO, Nev. - The University of Nevada (8-10, 1-3 MW) women's tennis team lost 7-0 to 41st ranked Fresno State (17-8, 4-0 MW) in a Mountain West and Senior Day match at Caughlin Club today. The Wolf Pack fell to 8-10 on the season and 1-3 in MW play. FS improved to 17-8 and 4-0 in the conference.
The Wolf Pack honored its lone senior Monika Magusiak for her contributions to Wolf Pack tennis at the event.
Next action for the Pack is the MW Championships that get underway Wednesday at Colorado State in Ft. Collins, Colo.
The Bulldogs won the #2 and #3 doubles matches to clinch the team point. The #1 doubles match featured two Intercollegiate Tennis Association ranked teams, the Pack's 62nd ranked duo of Sheila Morales and Blaga Delic versus the Bulldogs 30th ranked team of sisters Rana and Mayar Sherif Ahmed. The match was tied 3-3 and went unfinished after FS clinched the doubles point.
FS won all six singles matches, five in straight sets. The #3 singles match went three sets before Rana Sherif Ahmed defeated Adriana Gergelyova 2-6, 6-2 and 6-2.
