Nevada Game Notes Get Acrobat Reader

RENO, Nev. - The Nevada baseball team returns to Peccole Park this week, hosting San Diego State for a three-game series prior to hosting Saint Mary's. The Wolf Pack (11-12, 4-4) and Aztecs (6-17, 2-5) are set for a MW clash on April 1-3 prior to Nevada hosting the Gaels (13-9) in nonconference play on April 5.

In order to accommodate fans who also want to attend Nevada basketball's CBI championship game, Friday's baseball game has been moved up to 1 p.m. PT. Admission is free at Peccole Park as fans are encouraged to attend both events. First pitch times between Nevada and SDSU are also set for 6 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.

In Sunday's game, Nevada will be playing for the Vs. Cancer Foundation, which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives by funding lifesaving childhood cancer efforts. The Wolf Pack will be wearing yellow gear in honor of Vs. Cancer, while tickets to the game are free to all who wear yellow.

Nevada will then host Saint Mary's on Tuesday, April 5, at Peccole Park in the final game of a home-and-home series. First pitch is set for noon PT. Following Tuesday's game with Saint Mary's, the Wolf Pack will play an exhibition at the Reno Aces later that day at 6 p.m. PT at Aces Ballpark.

Don Marchand will call all four games on the Wolf Pack Radio Network, which is available on 1060 AM and online. Games on Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday will also be streamed live online.

• Nevada has won four straight games and has won six of its past seven overall.

• The Wolf Pack is coming off a weekend sweep of rivals UNLV in Governor's Series action. It marked Nevada's second road sweep of the Rebels in program history.

• On Sunday, Nevada will be playing for the Vs. Cancer Foundation, which is a nonprofit dedicated to saving lives by funding lifesaving childhood cancer efforts. Fans wearing yellow will receive free admission to the game. Fans are also encouraged to donate at www.vs-cancer.org.

• Nevada is the only team in the Mountain West that ranks in the top three in batting average, earned run average and fielding percentage.

• Sophomore TJ Friedl is riding a 10-game hit streak and an 18-game reached base streak, which is Nevada's longest of the season. Friedl ranks fourth in the Mountain West with a .398 batting average.

• The Wolf Pack has lowered its team earned run average in four consecutive games. Nevada currently ranks third in the MW with a 4.60 team ERA.

• Nevada's starting pitching rotation remains the same as senior LHP Christian Stolo, junior RHP Trevor Charpie, junior LHP Trenton Brooks and senior RHP Zach Wilkins are all slated to start on the mound this week.
