Results

SAN DIEGO - The University of Nevada (7-6) women's tennis team won its sixth consecutive match downing UC San Diego (10-9) 6-3 at the Northview Courts in La Jolla, Calif. on Thursday. The Wolf Pack improved to 7-6 while the Tritons dropped to 10-9.

Nevada opens Mountain West play on Friday at San Diego State (6-11) at 10 a.m. It is the first conference match for both schools.

The Pack won two of the three doubles matches to take an early 2-1 lead. Blaga Delic and Sheila Morales won 8-2 at #1 doubles while Adrian Gergelyova and Claudia Herrero scored an 8-4 victory on court two.

The Tritons Alexandra Weil defeated Sara Korzeniecki 6-1, 6-1 at #5 singles and the match was tied. The Pack won the next four matches to clinch the win. Herrero won the #1 singles match 7-5, 6-3 to improve to 20-4 on the season and 10-2 in duals.

Morales scored a 7-5, 6-1 victory at #2 singles and is now 15-4 on the season, 11-1 in duals. Gergelyova also won in straight sets 6-2, 7-5 on court three. Delic cruised on court four winning 6-3, 6-1. Monika Magusiak fell in two sets 7-6 (7-3), 6-1 in the #6 singles match.
