RENO, Nev. - Freshman pitcher Brooke Bolinger has been named MW Pitcher of the Week after going 2-0 with 13 strikeouts and posting a 1.87 ERA in two complete game efforts this past week against Boise State, the conference announced on Tuesday.

Bolinger becomes the fourth player to earn a weekly conference award for the Wolf Pack this season joining senior Megan Sweet, junior McKenna Isenberg and sophomore Jennifer Purcell. Bolinger also becomes the first Nevada freshman win to a weekly conference honor since Ashley Butera was named WAC Hitter of the Week in 2012.

Bolinger surrendered only two walks and two earned runs in her two starts where she also tossed her ninth and 10th complete games of the season. Despite allowing a two-run home run in the top of the eighth inning, the Yucaipa, Calif., native did not allow an earned run in seven innings of work in the series opener against the Broncos.

In her second start of the series, Bolinger set a new career-high with 10 strikeouts, snapping her previous best of eight Ks set on Feb. 27 in a win over UIC. Bolinger recorded the first six outs of the game with six strikeouts.

Nevada kicks-off a doubleheader against San Diego State today at 4 p.m. and will wrap up the series tomorrow at 12 p.m.
