Game Notes
RENO, Nev. - After sweeping Boise State in its conference opener last week, the Nevada softball team (22-5, 3-0) will travel to San Diego State (19-12, 1-2) for a doubleheader on Tuesday and a single game on Wednesday.
Tuesday's doubleheader will start at 4 p.m. while first pitch for Wednesday's game is scheduled for 12 p.m. Nevada has won eight of its last 10 games heading into its first road series in conference play including its first sweep of Boise State since 2009. The Aztecs are coming off an NCAA Regional appearance in 2015 and currently sit in fourth in the MW standings.
THE COMEBACK WOLF PACK
• Nevada pieced together two walk-off wins against Boise State including a 4-3 win in eight innings on Thursday and an 11-10 victory on Friday after scoring three runs in the bottom of the seventh.
• In its first two weekends, the Wolf Pack had two come-from-behind victories where it trailed entering the seventh and came out with a win.
• The Wolf Pack were down 7-5 against UC Davis but scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game at 7-7 before Megan Sweet hit a walk-off single in the eighth that lifted Nevada to an 8-7 victory.
• Down 6-4 against Bradley in the first game of the season, the Pack rallied and scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh for its first win of 2016.
WOLF PACK SWEEPS BOISE STATE TO KICK-OFF MW PLAY
• After dropping two out of three against the Broncos last season, Nevada got some sweet revenge as it swept Boise State to open conference play.
• Its the first time since 2008 that the Wolf Pack swept an opponent in three-games to open conference play.
• The last time Nevada swept Boise State was back in 2009.
BOLINGER SETS CAREER-HIGH
• In her second win of the week, freshman Brooke Bolinger struck out a career-high 10 batters in a 5-2 win over Boise State.
• Bolinger's previous high was 8 Ks against UIC on Feb. 27.
• Bolinger retired the first six batters with six strikeouts in her first double digit strikeout performance of her career.
