RENO, Nev. - University of Nevada senior guard Marqueze Coleman has been selected to the National Association of Basketball Coaches District 17 second team for his play this season. The teams are voted on by the NABC member coaches. Earlier this month Coleman was named the Mountain West coaches and media second teams.

The Nevada floor leader has helped the Wolf Pack reach the finals of the College Basketball Invitational. Nevada will face Morehead State in the finals best-of-three series that gets underway on Monday in Morehead, Ky. Game two is slated for Wednesday at 6 p.m. in Reno's Lawlor Events Center. The if necessary game would also be played at LEC on Friday, April 1 at 6 p.m.

Coleman tops the team and ranks seventh in the MW averaging 15.5 points per game. He also ranks sixth in free throw percentage (76.7), eighth in assists (3.4 apg), is tied for eighth in steals (1.3 spg) and is eighth in assist to turnover ratio (1.3 a/tr). He is among the national leaders in free throws attempted and made.

The Los Angeles product has set career highs this season in points (482), field goals (143), three-point shots made (25), free throws made (171), rebounds (132) and assists (105).

In 12 games he scored 20 or more points which includes three 30 plus point games. At Hawai`i he scored a career-high 34 points and followed that with 31 at Pacific. His 23 games of scoring in double figures is tied with D.J. Fenner for tops on the team. At UNLV he posted his first career double-double with 31 points and 10 rebounds.

Coleman ranks 21st in school history with 1,067 points. He is just the 25th player in 102 years of Wolf Pack basketball to score 1,000 points in a career. In his career he has played in 119 games and started 53. He missed four games with an ankle injury this season and was limited in three others as a result of the injury. In the CBI semifinals win over Vermont he netted 20 points, seeing his first significant action since the injury on Feb. 24.
