RENO, Nev. - The Nevada softball team is predicted to finish eighth in the Mountain West standings this season as voted on by the league's coaches in the preseason poll released on Tuesday.

The Wolf Pack boasts a re-tooled pitching staff that features junior McKenna Isenberg, who tied for fourth in the conference with 94 strikeouts last season and led the team with 141.2 innings pitched, and sophomore Chase Redington, who made 32 appearances as a freshman and tallied three saves.

The newcomer to the group is freshman Brooke Bolinger, a high touted freshman who went 31-3 with 306 strikeouts and a 0.26 ERA, a state record, as a senior. Bolinger led Yucaipa High School to a CIF Southern Section Championship in 2015.

The pitching staff will take a lot of pressure off an offense that was forced to outslug opponents last season. Seniors Jasmine Jenkins and Megan Sweet make up one of the top three-four hitter combinations in the MW while classmate Amanda Weis enters her final season in the Silver and Blue in the top 10 in program history in home runs and slugging percentage.

The Wolf Pack kicks off the season in Tempe, Ariz., this weekend for the Kajikawa Classic. Nevada faces Bradley and Indiana on Friday, Wisconsin and Boston College on Saturday and East Carolina on Sunday.

Wolf Pack Softball full season tickets are just $45 for youth and $60 for adults and can be purchased by calling (775) 348-PACK or online at NevadaWolfPack.com.
