Feb. 14, 2016 Results
DALLAS - The University of Nevada (1-6) women's tennis team lost 6-1 at SMU (7-0) on Sunday at the SMU Tennis Complex in Dallas. The Wolf Pack lost both weekend matches in Texas after falling 4-0 at UT Arlington on Saturday. The loss dropped the Pack to 1-6 on the season while the Mustangs remained perfect at 7-0.
Nevada is off until Feb. 27 when they travel to San Francisco to play at Academy of Art and take on Cal Poly at Santa Clara University on Feb. 28
SMU won the #1 and #3 doubles to earn the team point. Vaszilisza Bulgakova and Hristina Dishkova won the #1 singles 6-1 over the Pack's Blaga Delic and Sheila Morales. The Mustangs' Macie Elliott and Mary Wright earned the 6-2 victory at #3 doubles from Nevada's Monika Magusiak and Sara Korzeniecki.
Morales defeated Bulgakova in the #2 singles match in three sets 6-4, 3-6 and 10-3 to earn Nevada's only point of the match. Pack freshman Adriana Gergelyova dropped the #3 singles match in three sets to Sharapova 1-6, 6-2 and 6-3.
SMU won the other four singles matches in straight sets to make the final score 6-1. Nevada's top singles player Claudia Herrero lost in straight sets 7-6, 7-6 but both sets went to a tiebreaker.
