RENO, Nev. - After a two week hiatus, the Nevada Wolf Pack cross country team will take on the 2016 NCAA Mountain Regional Friday.
The team will race the Steve & Dona Reeder Cross Country Course Friday morning with the gun set to fire at 10 a.m. PT, 11 a.m. local time in Logan, Utah. The 6000 meter course, ran near host Utah State's campus, runs through two loops before finishing along the same straighaway as the start. The course runs through field and runners will have to cross a bridge twice over a creek between loops.
"We had some really strong performances at conference," said head coach Kirk Elias. "We need to be able to build off those and race as a team. If we do that, we could have a great morning."
The Pack is coming off the Mountain West Championships two weeks ago where freshman Cora Gallop placed 14th with a time of 21:08, shattering the school record and leaping to third on the overall all-time list. Following her was freshman Hiley Dobbs, who was running with a flu.
The top two teams at the meet will qualify for the national meet, and the four fastest runners outside of the top two teams will move on as well.
