COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - For the second time in as many tries, junior diver Sharae Zheng has won the Mountain West Diver of the Week for events through Nov. 20. The award marks the fifth time this season that Nevada has taken home the honor, courtesy of three different divers.
At the NAU Diving Invitational, Zheng swept the competition in both events she participated in as she won the 1-meter springboard with a score of 319.45 and the 3-meter springboard scoring a 362.95. Zheng has won all four events she has competed in this season, where she set a pool record on the 3-meter springboard (409.80) at UC Davis.
After the two-day invitational, Nevada would end up taking the top three spots in both events the team participated in, which is the fifth time this season the team has swept an event. Nevada will travel to Las Vegas, Nev. and compete in the UNLV Swimming Invitational Dec. 1-3 in its next competition.
