LAS VEGAS -- After three consecutive wins freshman Kostya Nesterenko lost his round of 16 match on day two of the ITA Mountain Regional being played at the Darling Tennis Center in Las Vegas. Sophomore Jonathan Aremon won twice on Wednesday but fell in his round of 32 match today.
Nesterenko defeated Lucas Fumagalli of Air Force in straight sets 7-5, 6-3 in the round of 32. UNLV's Alex Cozbinov knocked him off in the round of 16 by scores of 6-2, 6-3.
Freshman Julien Evrard and junior Robert Margitfalvi have advanced to the round three qualifier in the consolation bracket. Evrard defeated Boise State's Greg Wischer in three sets 6-4, 6-7 and 10-7. Margitfalvi won by walkover versus Denver's Diogo Rocha. Aremon will play in the third round of the consolation bracket on Friday.
Alex Turc, Peter O'Donovan, Mile Cilic and Sandro Lena were all eliminated in consolation play on Thursday.
The Pack's two doubles teams in the winners bracket after day one; Margitfalvi and O'Donovan along with Evrard and Turc lost on Thursday. Both teams along with the duo of Aremon and Nesterenko will compete in the consolation bracket on Friday.
