Individual and Team Results
Seattle, Wash. -The Nevada Wolf Pack cross country team logged a third-place finish at the Sundodger Invitational this morning in Seattle, Wash.
The Pack came just five points short of second, falling to Pacific-12 schools Washington State and Washington, the host. Emily Myers led the Pack, coming in 12th with a time of 21:07. Caitlin Devitt-Payne moved into eighth all-time in the record books with a 34-second personal record, and Erika Root moved into 10th all-time with a PR of her own. Nevada topped Fresno State, the only other Mountain West team at the meet, by 70 points.
"The whole goal this year was to make our third, fourth and fifth finishers better," said head coach Kirk Elias. "We're starting to show that. The middle of our lineup is giving us much better production than previous years."
Nevada's fourth and fifth runners finished higher than all but Washington's in the race.
The Pack will race again on Oct. 3 in the Sacramento Capital Cross Challenge.
