RENO, Nev. - Nevada will open the 2015 home schedule against Idaho State starting with a Saturday doubleheader at 12 p.m. and 2:30 followed by the Sunday rubber match at 12 p.m.
Nevada comes off a 1-4 weekend at the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico where the Wolf Pack topped Southern Illinois 23-9 that set a program single-game record for most runs scored in a game.The Pack's first game in Mexico against BYU also marked the first NCAA softball regular season game played outside the United States.
Nevada has won two of its last four home openers at Hixson Park with the last win coming against UTSA on March 15, 2013.
Idaho State enters Saturday with a 9-10 record after going 3-2 with wins over Wisconsin and DePaul in Las Vegas, Nev. last weekend. Offensively they are led by Kacie Burnett who's hitting .433 with a .534 OBP while Bailey Foster (4-1, 2.84 ERA, 24.2 IP) leads Idaho State in the circle.The Bengals were picked to finished first in the Big Sky Conference by the league's coaches on Jan. 28.
