DAVIS, Calif. - The University of Nevada track & field team opened its 2015 outdoor season by posting 16 top-five finishes at the Aggie Open, hosted by UC Davis.

"Today was a great opportunity to get in competition," coach Shantel Twiggs said. "We are coming off of the indoor season but training volumes are still high on the track and the weight. We had several put together marks that put them on the Nevada all-time list and several event wins. These should put the young ladies in decent position early this outdoor season on the national list, but we have work to do as we get ourselves into competition shape."

The Wolf Pack was victorious in a couple of events, including the 4x100m relay. Nevada's `A' squad of Makeya White, Kashae Knox, Alyssa Porter and Katherine Surin took home the top spot after combining for a time of 46.69 seconds.

Also grabbing a win was sophomore Nicole Wadden, taking home top honors in the high jump. Wadden's first-place mark of 1.73m, or 5'8" is tied for the ninth-best mark in the event in the Nevada outdoor record book. Redshirt junior Kinsey Minter finished right behind Wadden, notching second place with a mark of 1.70m.

Wadden also placed fifth in the 100m hurdles, clocking in at 14.90 seconds. Sophomore Fiyin Olusola earned the runner-up spot in the event with a time of 13.86 seconds, good for sixth all-time at Nevada.

In the shot put, redshirt freshman Anna DuBois collected the 10th-best mark all-time during the outdoor season. Her throw of 13.50m, or 44'3.5" earned her a second-place showing. Sophomore Reighan Fisher grabbed third place in the 800m run by clocking in at 2:14.44.

Freshman Katherine Surin enjoyed a pair of top-five finishes on the day in the 100m and 200m dash. The rookie clocked in at 12.43 in the 100m dash to notch fifth place, and ran at a 24.76 pace in the 200m dash for a third place showing. Knox also recorded a top-five in the 200m dash, running at 25.02 seconds to grab the final top-five spot.

Nevada finished 3, 4, 5 in the javelin with freshman Katia Coquis Lossio leading the way. Lossio posted a mark of 42.99m to nab the third spot, while sophomore Savanna Haverfield took home fourth place (42.14m) and junior Alyssa Zunino rounded out the top-five (39.84m) for the Pack in the event.

The Pack also had a few competitors compete unattached and post some notable finishes. Freshman Alaina Anderson ran to a fifth place showing in the 5000m run, crossing the finish line at 17:57.34. Classmate McKenna Evans also ran unattached in the 2000m steeplechase and finished fourth with a time of 7:13.20.

Nevada is back in action next weekend when it travels to Sacramento, Calif. for the Hornet Invite next Saturday, March 21.
