RENO, Nev. - Freshman Emily Capaul will represent the University of Nevada rifle team at the NCAA Championship being hosted by the University of Alaska in Fairbanks, Mar. 13-14. Capaul will compete in air rifle on the second day of the championship.

"I'm delighted for Emily to have this opportunity to compete and represent Nevada at the National Championship," head coach Fred Harvey said.

Capaul is one of two at-large individuals selected to compete in air rifle. She saved her best outing for the season ending NCAA Qualifier at UTEP posting her best score of 594. The Sutter, Calif. freshman also had scores of 593 versus Air Force and 589 versus Jacksonville State during the season.

In addition to shooting the top air rifle score on the team her 1168 aggregate score against Air Force was tops on the squad. Her 575 in smallbore also against Air Force ranked fourth on the team.
