OGDEN, Utah - Nevada track & field freshman Brandi French placed first in the shot put Friday evening at the Weber State Invitational, her first collegiate meet.

French threw a mark of 47' 7.75" (14.52m), which was not only the top-mark in the field, but ranks fourth all-time in Nevada indoor history. Junior Anna DuBois also competed in the shot put and finished as the second-best collegian, tossing a mark of 47' 3" (14.40m), just a few inches off her personal best.

The weight throw was also held on Friday with French, DuBois and sophomore Tara Park qualifying for the finals.

Nevada continues the Weber State Invitational tomorrow by competing in most of its scheduled events.
