COLUMBUS, Ohio - The 11th ranked University of Nevada rifle team placed third at the Buckeye Invitational that was hosted by Ohio State University last weekend. Top ranked Murray State shot 4699 to finish first followed by the eighth ranked Buckeyes with a 4676 and No. 11 Nevada shot 4640.

"Mitchell and Greta shot well in smallbore and air rifle," head coach Fred Harvey said. "The rest of the team shot well in one but not as well in the other."

Freshman Mitchell Van Patten shot 579 in smallbore to place 10th while senior Greta Ochsner was 11th with her 578. Van Patten was third in air rifle with a 592 and his aggregate score of 1171 ranked sixth.

Sarah Jameson (584), Ochsner (583) and Emily Capaul (582) finished 12th, 13th and 14th respectively in air rifle.
