Albuquerque, N.M.
- The Nevada cross country team capped off their season with a ninth place finish at the Mountain Regional Championships this morning, placing four spots higher than its pre-race ranking of 13.

Senior Emily Myers did what she did all season, leading the Pack with her 17th place finish and a time of 21:22. This was Myers' first ever top-20 finish at the regional competition. Senior Erika Root was the next Pack runner across in 44th with a time of 22:14.

"Even if I didn't reach all the goals I set, I have finished higher in all my races than even before," said Myers. "And I have my team that, even in hard times, gives everything they have. That's really all you can ask for."

Overall, Nevada fell just 14 points behind Colorado State for 8th. The Pack also topped Mountain West opponents Utah State and Wyoming, the team teams they fell directly behind at the MW Championships. New Mexico, who was ranked the No. 1 team in the nation for the entire season, was beat by Colorado by just one point.

This was the final race as a group for the team's five seniors in Myers, Root, Caitlin Devitt-Payne and Anna Preciado and Anne Underwood. They will now begin shifting into track & field season.
